Shelly Marie Kilby, loving mother and community member, died on Tuesday July 28th, 2026, at the age of 61. She was a devoted caretaker within her community, to both people and animals alike. Shelly was known to bring warmth in any room, and was always willing to lend a hand to a stranger. 

Shelly leaves behind two sons, Jeremy Essick and Christopher Essick both of Los Angeles, CA, a sister, Theresa (Mike) Floyd of Carrier Mills, IL, a brother, William Holmes of California, as well as three grandchildren, Madison, Matthew, and Mason Essick. 

Shelly's wishes were to be cremated, entrusted to Felty Funeral Home. No memorial services have been scheduled at this time.
