Jalisa Marsaw-Godsey, 36, of Harrisburg, IL passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at her residence. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025 from 10 am to 12 pm at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL.

Jalisa was born on April 10, 1989 in Chicago, IL to Rocky Burke and Geraldine Davis.

She was raised on the south side of Chicago by her mother and stepfather Ike Davis alongside her siblings. From a child until adulthood she attended King of Glory Tabernacle Church of God under the leadership of Pastor Superintendent Jeffery D.  Hodges. As a child she attended Philip Randolph from kindergarten to 6th grade, Triumphant charter school until 8th grade and OHMC for high school. She had her son Jalon shortly after graduating. She married Mario Godsey on December 29, 2011.

Jalisa earned her Associates Degree from Southeastern Illinois College in 2017, then pursued a career in nursing. She was an exceptional nurse and compassionate about her career. Her dedication to her family was unwavering, and she loved spending time with her children. In her free time she enjoyed cooking, reading, listening to music and exercising. She was also a member of the Washington Street Church of God in Carrier Mills, IL. She was outgoing, intelligent, determined and always encouraging. 

She is survived by her husband: Mario Godsey of Harrisburg, IL; 3 children: Jalon Ellis, Egypt Godsey and Isis Godsey of Harrisburg, IL; father: Rocky Burke; mother: Geraldine (Ike) Davis; siblings: Corey Davis (6 children), Tequan Perkins (2 children), Kenisha Perkins (4 children), Rakay Burke, Rocky Burke Jr., Brenda Marsaw, Ieasha Davis and Schamecka Marsaw and mother-in-law, Venita Goodwin.

Jalisa was preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Marsaw.
