Obituary

In Loving Memory of Helen J. Fuller

Helen J. Fuller, 86, of Carrier Mills, Illinois, was born on October 2, 1940, in Arizona to Clara Spitzer and William Hector. The oldest of eight children, Helen spent much of her life growing up in Sikeston, Missouri. She passed on Saturday October 24, 2026 at 4:00 am at Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehab Center.

Helen was a sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother She was blessed with five children: William Dillinger, Cathy Wray, Christina Dillinger, Tonya Fuller, and Laura (Cliff) Dombrow. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren—Ashley, Kyle, Nicholas, Sara, Johnathan, Briona, Taylor, and Cameron—and several great-grandchildren who brought her much joy. She is also survived by a sister: Sand McMacklin and 3 brothers: Howard Wright, Mike Wright and Wayne Wright.

Above all, Helen believed in Jesus and found comfort in her faith. She enjoyed listening to church services and hearing the Word of God and she held close to the hope and promise of being with her Lord and Savior.

Helen had a personality all her own. She always had something spunky to say and was never short on a few words to let you know what was on her mind. That little spark was part of what made her so special and will be fondly remembered by those who knew and loved her. Whether sharing her thoughts, enjoying her favorite shows, or simply spending time with family, Helen had a way of making herself known.

Lovingly named “Bawby” by her youngest granddaughter, Helen became known by this special name to many family friends. It was a name filled with love and a reflection of the precious bond she shared with her grandbabies. Spending time with her grandchildren was one of her greatest joys, and she treasured each of them in her own special way. She also enjoyed reading and had a fondness for the color blue.

Helen was preceded in death by her beloved son, William “Billy” Dillinger; her brothers, Charles Hector, and Bobby Wright; and her sister, Brenda Smith.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Felty Funeral Home is assisting the family with the details.
