Charles Alvin Drue

Charles Alvin Drue, 79, of 340 Irvin Road, Carrier Mills, IL died Thursday December 15, 2016 at 9:14 pm at the Marion VA Medical Center Nursing Home in Marion, IL. Funeral services will be held Thursday December 22, 2016 at 11 am at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8pm. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery with military rites by the Carrier Mills American Legion, Harrisburg American Legion and the Air Force Ritual Team. Reverend Ownly Williams will officiate. He was born on August 17, 1937 in Harrisburg, IL to the late Alvin Addison and Mary Helen (Claybrook) Drue. He married the former Aundreya Williams on February 16, 1963 and she survives. He worked as a cook for many years at the Golconda Job Corps. He later was hired by Peabody Coal Company and worked as a miner until his retirement. In retirement he volunteered his time working at the Marion VA Hospital for over 15 years. Charles served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. He is survived by his Wife: Aundreya Drue of Carrier Mills, IL; 3 Sons: Charles (Cheryl) Drue, Jr, of Harrisburg, IL; Derek (Juanita) Drue of Murphysboro, IL; and Damon (Cherry) Drue of Carrier Mills, IL; 3 Grandchildren: Auburn Drue, Caden (Lyndi) Drue and Chasity Drue; 1 Great Grandchild: Highlie Drue; Uncle: Kyle Drew of Harrisburg, IL; Several nieces and nephews including: Rick Drue, Brian Drue and Denise Drue; 6 Sister In Laws: Carolyn Drue, Shirley Ann Coleman, Donna Duncan, Brenda Portee, Marilynn Newsom and Deborah Fitzpatrick and 2 Brother In Laws: Ownly Williams and Lewis Williams. He was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Richard “Dick” Drue and William Drue and Sister In Law: Shelby King.
