John Franklin Wasson

John Franklin Wasson, 83, of 729 North Mill Street, Carrier Mills, IL died Monday September 19, 2016 at 9:30 pm at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, IL. His wishes was to be cremated. There will be no visitation or services. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL is assisting the family with details. He was born on February 8, 1933 in Urbandale, IL to the late C.L. And Ora Lillian (St. John) Wasson. He married the former Patsy Field on July 5, 1959 and she survives. He was a retired coal miner working several years for Peabody Coal Company. He was also a Army veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his wife: Patsy Wasson of Carrier Mills, IL; Sister: Billie (Charles) Womack of Harrisburg, IL; 3 Grandchildren: Holly Martin of Carrier Mills, IL, Rachel Wasson and Taylor Wasson both of Herrin, IL; 2 Great Grandchildren: Briley Martin and Haven Martin both of Carrier Mills, IL; 2 Brother In Laws: Lavern (Edna) Field of Carrier Mills, IL and Larry (Sue) Field of Harrisburg, IL; 2 Sister In Laws: Betty Renshaw of Mt. Vernon, IL and Wanda Wasson of Highland, IN; and 2 Dogs: Buddy and Pebbles and several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Son: John Wasson II; 2 Brothers: Vernon Wasson and Jack Wasson and 2 Sisters: Irene Shelton and Sadie Wasson.
